Approval-first by design

Why auto-publish is off by default, and why the setting most tools bury is the one we build around.

Auto-publish is off by default in Hummbird. You have to go and turn it on.

That is a deliberate choice, and it costs us something. Every demo where somebody asks "so it just posts for me?" and we say "no, you approve first" is a demo where we sound like less of a magic trick.

We keep making it anyway.

What you are actually handing over

Your LinkedIn profile is not a marketing channel you own alongside others. For a founder it is closer to a professional reputation with an API.

The cost of a bad post is not a bad post. It is a customer reading something that misrepresents your position. An investor seeing a claim you would not make. A candidate deciding you are the kind of person who talks like that.

Those do not get undone by deleting the post an hour later.

Confidence is not the same as accuracy

Everything about generated text is designed to read as certain. There is no hedge in the prose, no tell in the formatting, no difference in tone between a sentence built from something you actually said and a sentence that filled a gap.

Which means the only reliable check is a human who knows what is true. That is you. It cannot be us, and it should not be the model.

How it works instead

Drafts arrive as drafts. You approve, edit or skip. Approved posts land on the calendar as dated drafts: scheduled, visible, still yours to change, and and they publish on their day because you already said yes.

The review is meant to be fast, not ceremonial: swipe through the deck, rewrite a hook in one tap, skip what you would rather not run this week. Minutes, not an afternoon.

And the product will not quietly fill a gap to make a post work. No invented metrics, no invented clients, no borrowed anecdotes. When there is nothing real, it asks you for a real moment.

The trade we are making

Approval-first means Hummbird can never promise you a fully hands-off content machine. Somebody has to read the thing.

We think that is the correct trade, and we would rather sell the version that is true.

Record once. Publish weekly.

Talk it out, approve what goes out, let the rest run.
